American Strategic Insurance (ASI) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the Top Workplaces in Tampa Bay.

St. Petersburg, Florida – April 15 – The organization, included in the Midsize company category, is honored for receiving the recognition and congratulates its employees for their contribution for making ASI stand out. There are 14 companies, called the Elite 14, that have made the list every year. ASI and Progressive, which is the majority owner of the ASI, are two of the 14.

When asked what makes ASI a top workplace, ASI’s president and CEO, John Auer, said, "It’s our phenomenal employees and their positive attitudes. Their feedback places ASI in the top five of our category on a continual basis. Even with our substantial growth, the team builds and preserves an amazing culture that makes our company a great place to work."

In 2013, ASI celebrated the opening of its new state-of-the-art headquarters in St. Petersburg. The 13-acre campus is equipped with several amenities for the employees to enjoy. Onsite day care, gym, ping pong tables, basketball and sand volleyball courts are just a few of the perks that employees love. The office space was constructed to offer tons of natural light, collaboration areas, and superior construction to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.

ASI was started in August 1997 and is the 15th largest homeowners insurance carrier in the United States. It sells insurance in 28 states and the District of Columbia. The company has over $1 billion in written premiums and more than $640 million in policyholder surplus.
